“These generous speakers can teach us a great deal about climate,” said Ginny Richardson, founder of FreeSpeakers.org. “No doubt additional climate speakers will be joining.”

FreeSpeakers.org is a pro bono speaker’s bureau which serves community groups and organizations including libraries, service clubs, and business clubs. All climate speakers donate time to the community and share expertise.

Thousands of groups have utilized the well-established speaker’s bureau which provides a roster of outstanding speakers, all of whom speak for free.

Today, the bureau boasts hundreds of speakers in six cities across the country: Chicago, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Washington DC, Phoenix, and Los Angeles/Orange County.

“Clubs and groups pay nothing to use the bureau, and there is no compensation for the speakers,” Richardson said. “People who call for speakers for the first time are always incredulous that no money is expected of them. Typically, I have to convince them that there is no gimmick.”
