Sixty years ago, John Kennedy declared “This nation will commit itself to, by the end of this decade, to put a man on the surface of the moon and return him safely to the earth.” That was the Mission. That was WHAT we did. The Purpose was also expressed: "Because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win"
