As the son of an Eagle Scout, my appreciation for the environment started at an early age. Every summer we would take camping trips around the country eventually visiting every state in the union as well as eastern Canada. From a family of teachers I continued the tradition but focused on science, teaching almost every science during my career but finishing with AP Physics and Honors Physics. My passion for science and outdoor activity led me to concern about the future for my son and future generations. After retiring, I decided to help find a solution to Climate Change. In addition to my science background I have attended numerous workshops and training sessions on climate mostly through Citizens Climate Education. Talks from Tom Skilling, climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe, economist Mike Zanillo, Conservative Bob Ingles(founder of RepublicEn) and youth activist Greta Thunberg among others. I hope to share my experience and help people find the best options to solving the climate problem.

Can the audience solve the climate problem? They get to pick the levers they think will have the biggest impact and see what happens. Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan have worked together to build a simulator with most of the variables in a world wide climate model. I have been trained to run a workshop using the model that has also been used by the US Senate. It is interesting to see what is needed to solve the problem and what factors make the biggest difference. (About 1 hour)
My climate story. A brief tour of how as an active bicyclist I became an advocate for national action on climate change. In particular how an effective nonpartisan solution became a large focus of my retired life. Followed by a question and answer session focused on the interests and concerns of the audience about solving the climate problem. (30 minutes to 1 hour)
